Travis Hardmon, MPA

Travis Hardmon has over twenty five years of experience in early childhood education management and administration. Mr. Hardmon is the president of Families First Early Education, a child care business support organization that coaches child care providers on financial management, marketing, human resources management, strategic planning, business development, capacity building and organizational sustainability. He has served as project consultant for the District of Columbia Government’s Strengthening Partnership Initiative and has conducted organizational assessments of child care grantees of the Hartford Foundation (Hartford, CT). Mr. Hardmon also served as a management consultant on the national consulting team that evaluated the University of Pittsburgh’s child care initiative.
Mr. Hardmon has executive level experience serving as the President and CEO of nationally accredited center-based child development organizations, providing services to infants, toddlers, pre-school and school-age children. In this capacity, Mr. Hardmon also received the Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management. Further, he has provided expert testimony on child care issues before the DC City Council and the Senate Committee on Health, Education Labor and Pensions.
Mr. Hardmon also serves as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of the District of Columbia and Trinity Washington University, where he teaches courses in nonprofit management, planning and administration, change management, strategic planning, fiscal management, and fundraising.
Mr. Hardmon has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in public administration from Western Michigan University.
